Bloom release debut single ‘Sailor Man’

North Dublin five-piece Bloom have introduced themselves to the alt-rock scene with their debut single Sailor Man, accompanied by the B-side Amber Eyes. The release presents a band combining driving guitars, rhythmic energy, and a clear sense of narrative in their songwriting.

Sailor Man is a guitar-led track with steady drums and anthemic hooks. Its lyrics follow a wandering character, balancing charm and resilience, while the music blends influences from classic rock with a contemporary Irish sound. The song’s pace and momentum give it a presence suited to live performance, casual listening, or communal sessions, emphasising energy and forward movement without excessive flourish.

The B-side, Amber Eyes, takes a more reflective approach. The track evokes the experience of young love, fleeting farewells, and enduring memories. Its warm instrumentation and lyrical focus provide a contrast to the more assertive lead track, demonstrating the band’s ability to explore both energetic and introspective moods.

Bloom are made up of Sean Walsh on guitar and lead vocals, Archie Kenyon on lead guitar, Ryan Hays on bass, Oscar Geraghty on drums, and Pixie on backing vocals. Drawing on alternative rock traditions with subtle Irish influences, the five-piece crafts a sound that is clear, accessible, and rooted in guitar-driven arrangements.

With Sailor Man and Amber Eyes, Bloom offer a debut that establishes their musical identity without relying on exaggeration or overproduction. The tracks highlight the band’s approach to combining narrative, melody, and rhythm in ways that are direct and approachable. This first release positions them as a band capable of producing songs that are both lively and considered, with a focus on guitar work and structured energy rather than stylistic excess.
