Ireland’s Eurovision 2022 representative Brooke Scullion has just dropped a brand new single, following up her fantastically vigorous Eurovision entry tune, “That’s Rich”, just two weeks after her superb performance during this year’s Eurovision Song Contest at the Pala Olimpico in the Italian city of Turin on Thursday May 12th.
The latest song from Brooke, who originally caught the public’s attention when she competed and became a finalist in The Voice UK two years ago and has subsequently accumulated millions of streams of her music online as well as acclaim and attention from the likes of BBC Introducing and numerous Spotify editorial playlists including New Music Friday, Global Viral Charts and New Pop UK Playlists, is a delightful dance pop tune titled “Tongues” that was written by its exceedingly talented performer along with LAWRENT and Christopher Markey.
Speaking about her new tune, Brooke said, “‘Tongues’ is a very personal song for me, it’s about a love language, so-called speaking in tongues. It captures the moment when people talk to God in their own language, their own way, so only they can understand it. Therefore it’s very personal. If we can speak in tongues we can speak in a love language with each other that only the two of us will understand.”
The enthralling three minute tune starts with a splendidly atmospheric verse during which entrancingly soothing yet terrifically expressive singing drifts gently across a sea of absorbingly laid back music before the spotlight shifts to a wonderfully rousing chorus that boasts a brilliantly energetic mixture of magnificently spirited vocals and infectiously upbeat instrumentation.
Another splendidly atmospheric verse that showcases entrancingly soothing yet terrifically expressive singing alongside absorbingly laid back but also marvellously lively music follows from here and prefaces a second wonderfully rousing chorus that both once again boasts a brilliantly energetic mixture of magnificently spirited vocals and infectiously upbeat instrumentation, and brings things to an enormously invigorating conclusion.
Brooke has delivered another remarkably riveting and impressively passionate pop tune here that’s full of feeling and vigour. Its irresistibly engrossing combination of awesomely zestful and tremendously melodic singing and immensely mellifluous and enormously uplifting music is guaranteed to attract a vast and varied listenership, and is sure to move its artist even further up the ladder to super stardom.
