Ciaran Quigley releases new single ‘Settle Down’ ahead of debut EP

Irish singer-songwriter Ciaran Quigley has released his new single “Settle Down”, offering a stripped-back and emotional preview of his debut EP Is This a Problem Darling?, due out on 31 July via Cast Over Records. The track arrives as Quigley continues to develop his sound, with a focus on personal themes and simple acoustic arrangements.

“Settle Down” presents a reflective look at the end of a relationship, focusing on the uncertainty and emotional aftermath that can follow. Built around gentle acoustic guitar and subtle layered production, the song grows gradually while keeping an intimate and restrained tone throughout. It sits within a modern folk style while drawing on traditional singer-songwriter influences.

The release shows a slight shift in direction for Quigley, placing more emphasis on quiet delivery and direct writing. His vocal performance remains understated, allowing the lyrics and mood of the track to carry the focus.

Speaking about the song, Quigley said:

“’Settle Down’ is where everything shifts. It’s a vulnerable, definitive end to something that once felt impossible to leave. The track is a raw, final goodbye, set apart by a sound that breaks from everything else on the EP.”

The single forms part of a wider project that will be released later this summer. Is This a Problem Darling? is described as Quigley’s debut EP and marks a period of transition in his writing and recording approach. The project was developed with producer Patrick O’Donnell and reflects a focus on introspection and stripped-back performance.

Quigley, who is now signed to Cast Over Records, has been building momentum through early 2026 with new releases and live appearances. “Settle Down” continues that progress and sets the tone for the EP’s release in July.

Alongside the new music, Quigley has a series of live dates scheduled across Ireland. These include a show at Tinteán Theatre in Kerry on 24 July, where he will support Kaylene Chute. He will also appear at Cahersiveen Music Festival on 2 August.

In September, Quigley joins The Rising for a run of support shows, including Whelan’s in Dublin on 14 September, followed by Monroe’s Tavern in Galway on 15 September, Dolan’s in Limerick on 16 September, and Mike the Pies in Kerry on 17 September.
