Don Broco: Nightmare Tripping (Feat. Nickelback) (Single Review)

British rockers Don Broco have announced that they’ll be unleashing their fifth full length record, titled Nightmare Tripping, on March 27th. And to get the hype train going in the run up to its release, the boys have unveiled the album’s invigorating eponymous song, which marks a collaboration with Canadian genre heavyweights Nickelback.

The delightfully heavy five minute belter begins by introducing itself via a barrage of brilliantly penetrating guitar, bass and drum work before transitioning into a thrilling verse full of fantastically animated instrumentation and awesomely aggressive vocal work. The vibe remains rousing going forward into a terrifically expressive chorus crammed with captivatingly melodic singing and extremely electrifying music.

Another thrilling verse full of fantastically animated instrumentation and awesomely aggressive vocal work soon follows before the spotlight shifts to a second terrifically expressive chorus crammed with captivatingly melodic singing and extremely electrifying music. This is succeeded by an exhibition of marvellously lively guitar, bass and drumming alongside salvos of splendidly spirited vocals, all of which paves the way passionately towards a tremendously energising climactic showcase of superbly zestful singing and remarkably exhilarating instrumentation.

The end result is a consistently riveting and energetic alt-rock composition by Don Broco in collaboration with Nickelback that doesn’t exhibit a single dull moment from start to finish. Its creative combination of impressively wide ranging, magnificently fervent and invariably absorbing vocal work and strikingly skilful, immensely exciting and inescapably engrossing instrumental work keeps “Nightmare Tripping” arresting without pause as it plays out, and is guaranteed to go down well with established Don Broco enthusiasts as well as a whole lot of alt-rock fans in general.
