For our readers, please tell us a bit about your background in music.
I started playing music with my brother in our garage as a kid. We would record and play live for friends and neighbors. That’s what got me started and made me fall in love with music. Later I would be able to compose music for Red Bull Media House, Red Bull TV and be highlighted on Redbull.com.
Who or what are your musical influences?
My musical influences range from Mozart, The Beatles to Bob Marley to name a few. I find inspiration in great songwriting and songs that naturally make me feel good.
This year you have released seven new songs. Why did you decide to release them?
This year has been a big year for me. Lots of positive changes. I felt inspiration to write, record and put out new music that reflected how I felt.
And tell us about your music catalog, to date?
My music catalog has been evolving like I have been. My previous songs were a lot more minor and darker. As I grew up so has my music. I find myself writing more uplifting music and songs That make me feel good.
Can you describe what your songwriting process is like?
I usually start with the chords or percussion. From there I get an inspiration for the melody and essence of the song. Sometimes it happens very fast. Other times it can take longer. It just depends on what’s going on in my life and what I’m going through. I just let it happen naturally. That’s part of the beauty.
And how has the pandemic helped your creative juices?
I believe music has a special place for healing in our society. I think now more than ever music can help people. It helps them relate. Points them in the right direction or allows them to reflect and grow in a positive manner. That is how it has inspired me.
What do you want the listeners to take away from your music?
I want the listeners to feel good. Have a better perspective. Enjoy their life. I think the best part of life is feeling good and enjoying your life experience. That can be easier said than done sometimes. But it always goes back to feeling. I believe feeling is the universal language. If my music can make someone feel good, relate or reflect in a positive way, that’s amazing.
Who are you listening to at the moment?
I like to listen to uplifting music. I like artists who put out music that spreads a good message and helps people. I find myself listening to a lot of meditation music along with sounds of nature. I like to surround myself with inspiring sound beds and play them throughout the day. That being said, I like to keep it eclectic. Oldies and classics are always great too.
What drives you forward as a musical artist?
What drives me forward is my enjoyment for creating and love for music. Also the listeners, fans and supporters of course. The people who listen and support my music are a big part of what keeps me going.
And finally, what does the rest of 2021 hold in store for you?
I am currently working on a new album to be released next year. I plan on getting a lot of the new songs finished and ready to be released in the new year. The rest of this year will be filled with working on the new album which will be released in the new year.
