Irish pop artist Jessica Brett has released a new single, When You’re High, in collaboration with DJ and radio presenter Marty Guilfoyle. The track marks a shift towards a more dance-driven sound for both artists.
Brett has been building a growing profile on the Irish pop scene with a series of singles including Hotter Than Hell, I’ll Come Back Better, Sleep At Night, Your Karma, It’s Always Been You and Rom-Com. Her releases have received airplay across stations such as RTÉ 2FM, Today FM, SPIN, Beat 102–103, 98FM and iRadio, alongside support from Spotify editorial playlists including Fresh Finds, Equal UK & Ireland and Fresh Finds Pop.
Her new collaboration with Guilfoyle continues that momentum as she explores a more energetic, dance-pop direction.
Guilfoyle is one of Ireland’s best-known DJs and radio presenters, with shows on SPIN, Red FM and iRadio. He has also performed internationally across Europe and Asia and has built a large online following, including a strong presence on TikTok.
Speaking about the track, Brett said she wanted to try something different from her usual style.
“When creating ‘When You’re High’, I wanted to step away from my usual sound and style of writing to try something different. This release leans into a more energetic vibe, capturing feelings of lust and escapism. It was fun to make something so different from anything I’ve created in the past.”
When You’re High combines pop vocals with club-focused production, leaning into themes of attraction, desire and emotional release.
The release continues a period of growing visibility for Brett, whose previous singles have gained playlist support and radio backing across Ireland.
Guilfoyle, meanwhile, continues to expand his profile as both a broadcaster and DJ, with a career spanning club performances, radio work and social media content.
When You’re High is available now on streaming platforms.
