Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) have announced a Dublin show as part of next summer’s Trinity Summer Series. The synth-pop legends will play at Trinity College Dublin on Saturday, 4 July 2026.
Tickets, priced at €59.90 plus Ticketmaster fees, go on sale Friday, 14 November at 10am from Ticketmaster.ie.
Hailing from Wirral, England, OMD helped shape the sound of the 1980s with their mix of pop hooks and experimental electronic music. Their albums Organisation (1980), Architecture and Morality (1981) and Dazzle Ships (1983) remain classics, while hits like Enola Gay, Souvenir and Maid of Orleans earned them international fame.
In 1986, they broke into the American charts with If You Leave, featured in the film Pretty in Pink. After marking their 40th anniversary, the duo returned in 2023 with Bauhaus Staircase, their first new studio album in six years. The record, written during lockdown, has been praised for its strong themes and creativity. Frontman Andy McCluskey said, “I rediscovered the creative power of total boredom.”
Following the album’s release, OMD embarked on a sold-out UK tour in 2024, ending with their biggest-ever London show at the O2 Arena. They went on to perform across the United States, including standout appearances at Los Angeles’ Dark Wave and Cruel World festivals.
Over more than four decades, the band have sold over 40 million records worldwide, cementing their place as pioneers of electronic pop. Fans can expect a high-energy set packed with classics when they take to the Dublin stage next summer, so bring your dancing shoes.
