With not too long to go until they hit the road in Ireland and the UK for their highly-anticipated Good Times Tour, UK musicians Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh, Rachel Stevens, Jon Lee and Tina Barrett, aka S Club, have just released their first song together in two decades, “These Are the Days”.
Speaking about the new song and paying touching tribute to S Club member Paul Cattermole, who heartbreakingly passed away earlier this year, the band said in a message distributed to those subscribed to their official mailing list, “Hi friends,
It feels like a dream to be able to say we’re back with our first song in 20 years.
‘These Are The Days’ has been a true labour of love, and the experience of creating it together has been so special. This track is all about celebrating the ‘Good Times’ and remembering Paul as we look back on this long and winding journey. We hope you love it as much as we do.
Thank you for you unwavering support. We’re so looking forward to seeing you all in October.
This one’s for you, Paul.
Love,
S Club x.”
The delightfully uplifting and very affecting three minute offering is made up of a mesmerising mixture of marvellously melodic singing and infectiously upbeat music, all of which is showcased across a captivating collection of fantastically heartfelt verses and splendidly spirited choruses, with the end result being a characteristically catchy and invigorating, wonderfully nostalgia-inducing and tremendously moving S Club tune that’s sure to put a smile on the faces of the terrifically cheery ensemble’s long-time enthusiasts while simultaneously turning plenty of new heads in their direction.
