Irish singer-songwriter Seba Safe has returned with a new single, Laughter Life, released ahead of a European tour supporting American artist The Bones of J.R. Jones later this year.
The track marks a milestone for Safe, as it is the first song he has written, recorded, performed and produced entirely on his own. The independent artist said the song reflects on simpler times and the value of creativity without pressure or expectations.
Speaking about the release, Safe said: “Laughter Life is the first song I have written to be fully recorded, performed and produced by myself. As an independent artist who’s now seen most sides of the industry, there’s a freedom and power in being fully self-sufficient. This song looks back at simpler times were less focus was put on results, where life and creativity were to be enjoyed, explored and celebrated. In times of doubt we can reach for these times and pave our paths from the innocence within them.”
Over the past year, Safe has performed across Ireland and Europe, building a reputation for his live shows while sharing stages with artists including James Vincent McMorrow, Susan O’Neill, Mick Flannery, Niamh Regan and The Bones of J.R. Jones.
His music combines elements of Irish folk songwriting with indie pop melodies, helping him develop a growing audience both at home and internationally. Through a series of singles and three EPs, Safe has gained airplay on BBC Radio 6, KEXP and RTÉ Radio 1. He has also appeared across Irish media through interviews and live performances.
The release of Laughter Life arrives as Safe continues work towards a forthcoming album. According to the singer-songwriter, a new collection of demos has already been completed.
The new single also comes ahead of a run of European dates with The Bones of J.R. Jones. The tour will visit Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Denmark and France between 30 September and 17 October, including stops in Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Paris and Utrecht.
The tour will conclude with an appearance at Ramblin Roots Festival in Utrecht on 17 October.
With new music on the way and a busy touring schedule ahead, Laughter Life offers listeners an early glimpse of Seba Safe’s next chapter as he continues to expand his presence on the European folk-pop scene.
