Sick Love: Bad Girl (Single Review)

Dublin-based rock ensemble Sick Love have just released a brand new single called “Bad Girl”.

Following in the footsteps of the likes of the awesomely exhilarating “Are You Ready?”, “Soccer Mom”, “Gun in Your Pocket”, “Decoy”, “I Want You All of the Time” and “My Man”, the latest offering from the remarkably proficient foursome begins with a brilliantly rousing beat that’s joined by some splendidly expressive vocals as the extremely stirring first verse takes off. The instrumentation and singing remain wonderfully rousing and spirited as they pace purposefully towards an exceedingly electrifying chorus during which both become even more magnificently vigorous.

Another enchantingly fervent stanza full of superbly passionate vocals and incredibly energising music follows from here as the whole thing trots thrillingly towards an astonishingly invigorating instrumental exhibition which starts around the one minute, forty-eight second mark and proceeds to lead the way to a fantastically fiery climactic vocal display.

At this point it seems that Sick Love are genuinely incapable of composing a subpar song. “Bad Girl” is yet another awesomely exhilarating and terrifically animated alt-rock belter from the exceptionally talented quartet that’s a true treat for the ears from start to finish. Its flawless fusion of fantastically effervescent and marvellously melodic vocals and consistently exciting and skilful instrumentation is sure to satisfy their established enthusiasts and simultaneously turn plenty of new heads in their direction.

“Bad Girl” is available to stream on Spotify and download on iTunes now, and if you fancy seeing Sick Love perform live, you can catch them at Ballina’s Other Voices event on February 28 and 29, as well as at The Cobblestones of Somerset, Exeter Phoenix of Exeter, The 1865 of Southampton and Esquires of Bedford on April 8, 9, 10 and 11, respectively.
