Reevah releases video for new single ‘Take What You Can’

Derry singer-songwriter Reevah has released the music video for her latest single, Take What You Can, through Bloom Records.

The track marks the first new release from the Northern Ireland artist, whose real name is Aoife Boyle, since her debut album. It also offers an early look at the direction of her forthcoming second LP, expected in 2026.

Known for blending indie-pop with singer-songwriter influences, Reevah moves further towards an alternative-pop sound on Take What You Can. The song also incorporates country-inspired elements, including pedal steel guitar, reflecting influences from artists such as Kacey Musgraves, Olivia Dean, Role Model and CMAT.

Written by Boyle and long-time collaborator Brian Doherty in Derry, the single recently received RTÉ 2FM’s Track of the Week recognition from presenter Laura Fox.

Speaking about the songwriting process, Reevah said: “It was one of those tracks that had almost written itself. The story was already there, just waiting to be told. It feels like it paves the way for what’s to come, carrying through my previous sensibilities, themes, and sounds, but with a touch of something new and fresh.”

She added that incorporating pedal steel guitar had always felt like a natural fit for her music and helped shape the song’s overall sound.

The accompanying video was filmed at the Ulster American Folk Park and draws inspiration from classic Western films. Directed by Jamie Neish of Broken Film, the clip features Reevah, her band and a cast of friends and extras in a light-hearted Wild West setting.

Reevah said the video was designed to be fun and not take itself too seriously. One of its key features is a line dance sequence, choreographed by Zoe Ramsey, which was inspired by the song’s lap steel guitar section.

“We wanted to combine the whole spaghetti western aesthetic with a bit of craic, some line dancing, and a bit of chaos and fun,” she said.

Take What You Can explores themes of trust, betrayal and personal strength. According to Reevah, the song focuses on people who mistake kindness for weakness and the resilience needed to remain grounded when relationships begin to break down.

The single was produced by Matt Weir and Brian Doherty, mixed by Will Reeves and mastered by Tuff Master.

With a second album expected in 2026, Take What You Can signals the beginning of a new chapter for Reevah as she continues to build her profile within the Irish music scene.
