Despite the COVID-19 pandemic putting a stop to live performances at the end of the first quarter of 2020, Irish soul pop/R’N’B singer/songwriter Amy Naessens had a very productive and successful year last year.
Following a year and a half of showcasing her impressive musical skills at venues across her homeland, the extremely talented artist dropped a tremendously touching composition called “To Be the One You Choose” in January 2020 and hit the stage at Whelan’s of Dublin for a sold-out headline show the day after said composition was released.
“To Be the One You Choose” subsequently infiltrated the airwaves of the likes of RTÉ 2FM, FM 104, Spin 1038 and iRadio in Ireland before its creator followed it up last July with another affecting tune titled “Kiss and Tell”, which has been played on radio stations in a number of different countries including England and Australia.
Now she’s back with a brand-new single named “Nothing Like You”, the recording of which was sponsored by Ireland’s Department of Tourism and Culture under its artist stimulus package 2020.
Said to be an “anthem of true love”, “Nothing Like You” begins by exhibiting entrancingly soft yet superbly expressive vocals alongside endearingly gentle instrumentation, and builds gradually, melodically, enthrallingly and beautifully towards a terrifically vigorous and exceedingly impactful climactic display of terrifically passionate and fantastically heartfelt singing and marvellously animated and immensely moving music.
The outcome is yet another incredibly affecting song from Naessens that, just like the other tunes she’s released to date, leaves a lasting impression. Its enchanting mixture of magnificently mellifluous vocals and exceptionally pleasant instrumentation, also like its creator’s other previously-released compositions, should appeal to a large and diverse assortment of people.
“Nothing Like You” is also available to download on iTunes now.
