Irish artists Amy Naessens has been gaining recognition both at home and across the water since the release of her debut single “To Be The One You Choose” over two years ago, which was followed by her lockdown tune, “Kiss & Tell”. Her music is a blend of pop, soul and R&B mixing powerhouse vocals and fiery production with delicate songwriting.
Naessens has spent the last three years gigging across the Ireland, with her most recent headline show being with MCD in LostLane, following appearances at Sea Sessions live and unsigned, Electric Picnic, Sofar Sounds and the Ruby Sessions.
Naessens’s previous releases have been crowned track of the week by SPIN1038, iRadio and FM 104, and she was named one of Hotpress’s “young and emerging” Irish artists and Whelan’s “ones to watch”.
Now she’s just dropped a brand new song named “Obscene”, which centres around the idea of the excitement and lust in a new relationship; the euphoric feeling that it’s you and your soulmate against the world and you simply cannot get enough of them.
Influenced by the likes of Dua Lipa and Banks and produced by Alex O’Keefe, who has worked alongside artists such as LYRA and Erica Cody, “Obscene” exhibits an extremely stirring synthesis of enticingly serene stanzas that showcase entrancingly soft yet superbly expressive singing atop enthrallingly tranquil instrumentation and terrifically vigorous choruses crammed with splendidly passionate vocals and fantastically energetic music, all of which results in a remarkably riveting, magnificently atmospheric and immensely moving pop composition that’s sure to allure a large listenership.
“Obscene” is also available to download on iTunes now.
