Irish artist Amy Naessens has been gaining recognition both at home and across the water since the release of her debut single “To Be The One You Choose” over three years ago, which was followed by her lockdown tune, “Kiss & Tell”, and last year’s “Obscene”. Her music is a blend of pop, soul and R&B mixing powerhouse vocals and fiery production with delicate songwriting.
Naessens has spent the last four years gigging across Ireland, at venues and events including LostLane, Sea Sessions live and unsigned, Electric Picnic, Sofar Sounds and the Ruby Sessions.
Naessens’s previous releases have been crowned track of the week by SPIN1038, iRadio and FM 104, and she was named one of Hotpress’s “young and emerging” Irish artists and Whelan’s “ones to watch”.
Now she’s just dropped a brand new tune titled “Family”, which is said to be “a ‘Coldplay style’ ballad that begins with soft intimate vocals and haunting live piano but builds to a euphoric and climatic chorus. Not only is it the type of song that will have listeners screaming alot but it has a very universal theme of love and loss in a family unit.”
The new tune starts with an extremely touching stanza consisting of pleasant and poignant instrumentation, and mellifluous vocals, all of which build wonderfully warmly and very affectingly going forward, making a remarkably powerful impact as they give rise to an enormously moving, splendidly expressive, spellbindingly harmonious, and magnificently deep and meaningful feeling pop composition that embeds itself deep in the mind and refuses to withdraw.
“Family” is also available to download now.
